2010-2011 Division Realignment

GIRLS DIVISIONS TO BE REALIGNED FOR 2010-2011 SEASON

The USJGT is realigning its girls divisions for the 2010-2011 season.  For the past several years, we have had only two girls divisions - Rising Stars (Grades 3-6) and High School (Grades 7-12).

Beginning in 2010-2011, the new divisions will be set up this way:  Girls High School (Grades 8-12), Girls Middle Division (Grades 6-7), Girls Rising Stars (Grades 3-5).  The Rising Stars will still play our special tees (flags) and the Girls High School will continue to play courses at lengths ranging from 5200-6000 yards.  The new Girls Middle Division will play 18 holes each day from the forward tees at most courses on our schedule.  The length will be approximately 5,000 yards.  We are providing this division to allow for a smoother transition for girls from Rising Stars to High School.

For girls who will be in the sixth or seventh grade in the upcoming school year, but have already played in the high school division, you will be allowed to either stay in the High School division or drop back down to the newly created Middle division.  We will leave that to each individual.  Normally, we do not allow players to move backwards in divisions, but since this one is newly created, we will make that exception.  The exception applies only to the 2010-2011 season and you may not start this year in the high school division and then drop back to the Middle division.  You must decide which division prior to playing in your first event.

If you have any questions, please let us know.
