ORDER OF INVITEES
The USJGT uses a unique system to invite players to the Tour Championship. Below is a list of how players are invited.
1. Players who have played at least five events with at least one win (in P.A.R. order)
2. Winners of our Metro Cup series
3. Players who have played at least five events with no wins in the order in which they appear on the P.A.R. list
4. Players who have played less than five events with at least one win (in P.A.R. order)
5. Players who have played four events with no wins (in P.A.R. order)
6. Players who have played three events with no wins (in P.A.R. order)
7. Players who have played two events with no wins (in P.A.R. order)
8. Players who have played one event with no win (in P.A.R. order)
ACCEPTANCE OF AN INVITATION DOES NOT GUARANTEE A SPOT IN THE TOURNAMENT. It simply means that if you make the field, you will attend.
It has been our experience with the first seven years of the tour that players down the line on the invitation list do get in. There are many times when higher ranked players are unable to attend the event that weekend, so if your name appears on the preliminary list and you want to play, go ahead and accept your invitation (even if you are way down the list). You are not charged for the event unless you are on the final accepted list.
The list of who will be playing will be finalized by Noon (Tuesday, May 12).
TOUR CHAMPIONSHIP BANQUET
The annual USJGT awards banquet will be held in the clubhouse at Quail Ridge on Saturday evening following completion of that day’s play. A specific time will be announced the week of the event. The player’s meal is included in the tournament entry fee. Parents and other interested guests will have to purchase dinner tickets.
At the banquet, we honor our USJGT Player of the Year in each age group and the recipients of the USJGT Director’s Awards, and recognize our Metro Cup winners, our All-Academic team and our graduating seniors.
It is also a time when we make any announcements regarding the upcoming season.
