The USJGT is introducing a new twist to its tournament format and an additional avenue in which a player can earn a spot in the Tour Championship. Its called our Metro Cup Series a mini-tour inside of the regular USJGT schedule.
FIVE AREAS TO BE PART OF SECOND ANNUAL METRO CUP SERIES
The USJGT has designated five areas to comprise the second year of the Metro Cup series Chattanooga, Nashville, Knoxville, Memphis and Arkansas. In each of these five areas there will be three tournaments designated to comprise the Metro Cup Series. For example, there will be three in the Chattanooga area, three in the Nashville area, three in the Knoxville area, three in the Memphis area and three in Arkansas.
All of these events will count as part of the regular USJGT schedule and part of the regular USJGT points system.
However, in each area a separate points system will be kept for that three-tournament series to determine the cup winners in each of the designated areas. The points system is explained below. The winner of that points system in each area will be declared the winner of that cup Chattanooga Cup, Nashville Cup, Knoxville Cup, Memphis Cup and Arkansas Cup.

AUTOMATIC INVITATION TO THE TOUR CHAMPIONSHIP
The winner of each cup in each area in each age division will receive an automatic invitation to the USJGT Tour Championship. The Tour Championship rotates each year as to its location. For the 2007-2008 season, it is scheduled to be in the West Tennessee area.
The remainder of the Tour Championship field will be determined by our regular USJGT points system.
METRO CUP POINTS SYSTEM
In each age division, players will receive points based on the order of finish. However, only the top one-third in an age bracket will receive points.
For example, if there are 30 players in an age division, then the top 10 (1/3 of 30) will receive points. Under this scenario, the points would be awarded in descending order as: 20-18-16-14-12-10-8-6-4-2.
If a division has 12 players, then the top four would receive points in this order: 8-6-4-2.
If the number of players in an age division is not evenly divisible by three, then the number of players receiving points will be rounded up. For example, if there are eight players in a division, the number of players receiving points would be rounded up to three.
AWARDS
Only the cup winner in each age bracket will receive an award and that will be given at the conclusion of the third event in each cup series. These awards are in addition to the regular awards given for each individual event.
